I took the dogs around the block this morning. When we got
home again, I put them in the house and stayed outside to clear some snow from
the driveway and front steps. The snow was light and powdery. And there really
wasn’t much to do as Colleen had done it last night. Her last words to me this morning as she left for work were "Don't worry about shovelling snow today. Just leave it. I'll do it later."
I ignored her, of course. It wasn't much. I rather enjoy the fresh air. But it turned out to be
a bigger job than I thought. I had barely started when a neighbour lady stopped to chat. I was happy to stop work, but I was too tired at first to
respond to her greeting.
I hate to admit it, but a snort of oxygen would have
been quite welcome there. It might have provided the boost I needed to finish the job.

I am not allowed to shovel the driveway. I mean, I am allowed to clear a space by the garage door and do our little walk, but they ladies insist that we hire a contractor for the main work. But are there even snow removal companies there in the banana belt?
